With a background in music production and recording, Paulo Valenza teaches this semester long elective. The history of radio, skills for interviewing, voice inflection and pace, plus extensive digital recording techniques are just a few examples of the curricular integration that takes place in this exciting course.

While this is not a new course to ASK’s  course line-up, it has definitely been modified. While difficult to obtain a FM frequency for broadcasting in Kuwait, Warren Lavender (IT Department Chair) and Paulo Valenza decided to use the new technology of Podcasting to give students a unique educational experience. “It is exciting to see the student’s creativity come together with a solid understanding of recording.”, states Mr. Valenza, “While it is not an easy class, I really believe all of the students receive a lot of self-satisfaction when they hear what they themselves have recorded.”

Because of marketing goals being set and a deadline of launching a new Podcast every week, the class has its work cut out! But Mr. Valenza’s desire is that along with the know-how, students of ASK will be able to benefit from this Podcast. Truly giving them an opportunity for their unique voice to be heard!
